We aim to elect officials who represent ALL Idahoans.

Idaho Moms expect elected officials to protect and strengthen the systems that we depend on to thrive like libraries, schools, and public lands.

Issues We Care About

Affordable Housing

Affordable Quality Day Care

Idaho Moms and working families need quality, affordable, housing in all of our communities.

Idaho Moms need to be able to house themselves, their children and their families. We demand that our elected officials use every tool available to expand the availability of rentals and attainable housing.

Idaho Moms and working families need quality, affordable, available daycare in all of our communities.

Idaho Moms’ daycare struggles could have been made easier, except for 36 extreme house members in 2021 who voted against federal funding for early childhood education and child care because it "makes it easier or more convenient for mothers to come out of the home."

A vote was taken on HB 226 on whether to accept $6 million in Federal grant funding each year for 3 years in a row ($18 million).  The money was to be used to increase the square footage of existing daycares, build new ones, increase the pay for existing staff, and/or to pay for additional staff.

Keep in mind that 65 percent of children under the age of 8 in Idaho have both parents in the workforce. Also, “50% of Idaho is in an early childhood education desert. So people just don't have access to child care in all parts of the state.”

This money was desperately needed by daycares during the second year of Covid and parents needed that care.  Yet, house members with extreme personal agendas voted NO because of a fear that the daycares were “indoctrinating” children.  None of the accusations were true.  Children suffered.  Working families suffered.  Idaho Moms suffered. Moms are still struggling to find quality affordable care for their children.

This is why it is so important to find out who wants to represent you in Boise,  Find out who will support your needs and vote for that person.  Vote in the primary and in the general election. Idaho Moms are here to help make voting easier for you.

Affordable Internet

Idaho Moms and working families need quality, affordable, internet service.

We must make sure that extremists in the legislature do not try to reject this Federal Funding for broadband expansion into rural Idaho.

“Communities without high-speed internet tend to suffer both from an economic perspective and other bad outcomes, particularly amongst the most vulnerable community members, Feinman said. The elderly may have more trouble aging in place, and “when they do, it’s less safe,” he said. Children in communities without high-speed internet are less likely to pursue post-secondary education, and when they do, it tends to be at less-prestigious institutions, and they receive less financial aid and take on more debt, he said.”
