We aim to elect officials who represent ALL Idahoans.

Idaho Moms expect elected officials to protect and strengthen the systems that we depend on to thrive like schools, libraries, and public lands.

Issues We Care About

Vote IN FAVOR of the Levy
 May 21
For the Shortfall

Resource Officer, Building Repairs, Books, Bus Drivers, Staff, Sports

FACTS: The State of Idaho does not fully fund schools. They pay for the bare bones needed for students to graduate with state requirements. Sports, bands, art, drama, resource officers, building maintenance, special staff, AP, career tech, additional teachers to keep class sizes reasonable, etc, must be funded by local property taxes.

WBCSD is asking the taxpayers to vote for a 1 year, $4.6 million levy to cover the shortfalls from the state.

COST TO HOMEOWNERS:

$94.43 per $100,000 assessed value AFTER the homeowners exemption has been subtracted.

Average Home Assessment in Priest River Area is $350,000. Levy would cost $17.70 per month.

$350,000 - $125,000 (exemption) = $225,000  [$225,000 * .0009443 (mill rate)] = $212.47 per year or $17.70 per month.

What the Levy Pays for

  • Maintenance  $917,000

  • Resource officer $72,000

  • Sports  $376,000

  • Transportation/new Buses $258,000

  • Curricular, Technology: $126,000

  • Staff: $1,423,382

  • Teaching Staff: $1,262,244

  • Health and liability insurance increases: $112,000.

PRIEST RIVER, By CAROLINE LOBSINGER March 31, 2024  — A long-awaited forensic audit has found no financial misconduct, West Bonner trustees were told by auditing firm Eide Bailey last week.

The audit covered a five-year period from 2018 to 2023 and $21 million in disbursements were verified.

We want our public schools to stay open and function well.  Public schools are the heart of every community across Idaho. They are where we gather as a community for football, soccer, volleyball, basketball games. Our kids learn what they need to know to thrive in life.

Politicians with extreme agendas push for policies that harm public schools. For example, they champion school voucher programs which would funnel money from public schools to private and religious schools.

This is why we need to vote in EVERY election.

Idaho Moms is here to help make voting easier.  The very best thing you can do is to vote by mail.  Request an absentee ballot every calendar year and a ballot will be mailed to you approximately 4 weeks before each election.  Go to VoteIdaho.gov to request your absentee ballot today!
